Republicans are gearing up to overturn the debt deal that calls for automatic spending cuts for defense and non-defense. They could have avoided the cuts by agreeing to new taxes for people who make over $1 million a year but they refused. Now they want to save millionaires and teh Pentagon. Can't have it both ways anymore.
NY Times: "Republican policies over the last decade, and the cost of the two wars, added far more to the deficit than initiatives approved by the Democratic Congress since 2006, giving voters reason to be skeptical of campaign promises."
